It's a resource center and discussion forum for writers looking for help with their stories, or for writers interested in giving their fellow fans a hand.(the basics) »PLAY NICE Certain aspects of this one should go without saying, but in a community where writers are putting their work up for evaluation, this one's important. All criticism should be constructive, and personal attacks are never okay. "I like the conversation between China and Japan, but I noticed they started to repeat themselves about halfway through the fic and that made me less engaged in the story" is good; "You can't write China to save your life and you might as well give up now" is not. The mods will warn you the first two times they notice you making a personal attack. If you do it a third time, you'll receive a temporary ban -- possibly a permanent one. »RESPECT IS GOOD One of the cool things about Hetalia is that it really has attracted an international fanbase. This means, though, that people are going to have different takes on history and on the events depicted in the comic, on writing itself and how to approach it, and on what they want out of fanfic. This is perfectly okay. In fact, this is a good thing. Acknowledge and respect that we're all bringing different things to the table and that nobody has to be right or wrong, and don't attack people for not doing it "your" way. This falls under the category of personal attacks, and you will be warned and then banned if the behavior persists. »KEEP IT ON-TOPIC The range of topics you can cover in Hetalia -- and on aph_footnotes is pretty broad, but all posts should be related to Hetalia and to fanfiction as it relates to Hetalia. No introductory posts, no art posts or doujinshi-sharing or icons or other downloads, no discussion and workshopping of non-Hetalia fanfic, no original fiction, and if you want to talk about general writing topics, make sure you can relate them back to Hetalia.Also, Hetalia isn't a political science or history class, and this isn't a political or historical discussion group. There are places for discussion and debate about those things -- hetalia_discuss is one of them. aph_footnotes, however, is not the appropriate community for that. Providing resources about a particular country's history or culture is okay, but again, the primary purpose behind posting such things should be to give your fellow ficwriters useful information, not to spur discussion or debate.»POSTING ETIQUETTE Please make use of our tag system!
